$1000 Historical Preservation Grant from MBNA
The Great Cranberry Island Historical Society has received a $1000 check from MBNA to support Historical Preservation by the creation of historical videos.  The Historical Society has already collected raw video footage of interviews with several island personalities—with plans to collect more—but due to time constraints, up until now we have managed to edit and publish only one: a Video Interview with Marjorie Phippen, which was shown at the Historical Society's 2002 Annual Meeting, and is also available for sale.

An Interview with Charles "Waddy" Wadsworth is planned as our next production, to be shown at the next annual meeting on 13 August 2003.

News Flash!  The Historical Society is proud to announce that the first-fruits of the grant are in!  A new video, Fishing with Wesley Bracy, Jr., is available for viewing at the museum, and will be publicly shown on Great Cranberry Island sometime this season; time and date to be announced.
