Captain Steve Pagels, who owns several other vessels such as the well-known four-masted Margaret Todd, has bought Charles Liebow's business and vessel, the Island Queen (right.)Captain Pagels intends to offer scheduled seasonal ferry service between Southwest Harbor, Manset, and the Cranberry Isles.
Refurbished from stem to stern, and equipped with additional sound-deadening insulation, the Island Queen will serve during the busy summer season. She will be captained by Charles Liebow.
On 15 May 2003, Capt. Pagels started off-peak service using a smaller vessel, the Katherine (right), with Captain Jeff Prosser at the helm.
