Captain Wyman Sawtelle Teel

d. 16 Aug 1967


The Teels had a daughter, Mary.  Her profile is seen in the enlarged lobster picnic photo.

They lived in the house that is now the David Bunker residence.
They served food to the public.
Buried in the Stanley Cemetery.

Velma May (Stanley) Teel

b. 10 Feb 1891
d. 23 Jun 1971


Velma was the daughter of Edward J. and Mary S. (Moore) Stanley.  She was the wife of Wyman Sawtelle Teel.  She was a schoolteacher on Great Cranberry Island.

She wrote several entries in the Book of Remembrance kept in the Congregational Church:

  about founding of the Ladies Aid
  about early town history
  about early church history

She is buried in the Stanley Cemetery.

The Teel House


The Teel house served meals to the public.  It was featured, along with the Hamor Tea House, in a Town brochure from the 50s.

Betty Hartley remembers that she and her parents ate at the Teel House.
